The Dine-o-Mat is a Building that can be placed on both the Sub level and Pleasure deck. It is the ubiquitous fast food establishment of the Station. It has four stations to serve Peeps simultaneously.

Peeps using the Dine-o-Mat create a lot of Litter, so players may want to place Litter Bins near each food access point.

By default, only energy based food is available. Organic and mineral food must be enabled via the Pop-up menu, consuming Food Supplies and Mineral Ores respectively. Each time a crate is used to supply a Dine-o-Mat, it provides thirty servings.

Item Description[]

"Every race has the desire for fast food. A Dine-O-Mat will provide quick, nourishing meals or drinks to customers in seconds. Preparation consists of finding out what the customer wants and replicating it using macro-biological ingredients instantly, so that not only is the food fresh as it was literally created from atoms nano-seconds earlier, but it's piping hot owing to the molecular excitation. A Dine-O-Mat can create food for large numbers of customers using this system."

Food preferences[]

Each race of Peeps have a preference for one food type, and will gain additional benefits from consuming it. If that food type is available at the Dine-o-Mat that they are visiting, they will always choose to eat it.

  • Replicated food is preferred by Salt Hogs, Greys and Turakken. Other races can eat replicated food without penalty.

Peeps will only eat food that causes them penalties if the Dine-o-Mat visited has had the ability to produce replicated food turned off in the Pop-up menu for the building, and their preferred food is also unavailable.

Eating at a Dine-o-Mat that has been allowed to become filthy or damaged can instead cause the peep to suffer from food poisoning, suffering a big hit to Mind and Toilet and a hit to Body that varies on race. They do, at least, gain a reduced amount of Nourishment.

  • Note: Due to an error in the data files, male sirens treat Mineral food as if it were Replicated food, and so do not suffer the penalties for eating incompatible food.

Litter level[]

With a capacity to serve four people at once, the litter level of this facility can be startlingly high.

A minimum of 4 litter bins, one on each side (right behind the customers) is required to keep it relatively clear. A pair on each side will prove more effective. Even so, a rush of hungry customers can result in the littering getting out of hand. Maintaining a number of Scuzzers set to prioritize litter is recommended.

Before you can provide that, manually picking up litter to drop it into Recyclers is recommended.

Players may want to avoid placing Dine-o-Mats on the Sub level to avoid a Memau eating the litter.
