Criminal Targs will do exactly the opposite. Having them at the comsensor ensures that nasty things will be whispered around sub-ether regarding your station, most of them untrue. Don't be surprised if ships actually begin avoiding your station altogether. |

The Thyorian Grekka Targ, or just Targs for short, are an insectoid species seen quite often in various areas of the galaxy. It is possible that their population rivals that of the Salt Hogs. They get along with most other species and have very few quirks, but this is mostly due to an absolute lack of personality. They aren't exactly the most exciting beings on the station to talk to. Given their hive-based communication, Targs are all natural communication experts. They are also gadget freaks. Not outright nerds like the Turakken, but still quite tech-savvy. They work the comsensors on the station, chewing through the noise of subspace communication frequencies to signal passing ships, advertise station services, make contact with trade vessels, and facilitate intelligence gathering on the station for the security services.
Targs are short - as in "knee high to a grasshopper," literally - but are well-armed and make a contribution to station security. As they are not as critical as Salt Hogs in that fewer Targs are necessary to run their particular services, a fledgeling security force can be quickly filled out by these little guys. They are covered in green, chitinous plating, wearing body armor over that to protect their fragile forms from the harsh realities of space travel.
As you can imagine, they have an avid fear of being stepped on.
Station functions
The Targs only serve one station function other than security, working the comsensor.
Comsensor
The comsensor allows the station to keep in touch with the rest of the galaxy. Tens of thousands of communication channels float around in subspace. Using these channels, Targs can advertise your station, making contact with passing cargo vessels and passenger transports. If you are set up to receive patients with a suitable sick bay, ambulances and plague ships aplenty will appear at your ports. If your pleasure deck is rife with fun activities and pleasant surroundings, luxury liners and passenger vessels will make certain to stop off for a bit of R&R. Pilgrim ships in search of Zedem temples will make certain to drop by on their pilgrimage in order to speak with the monks.
Criminal Targs will do exactly the opposite. Having them at the comsensor ensures that nasty things will be whispered around sub-ether regarding your station, most of them untrue. Don't be surprised if ships actually begin avoiding your station altogether.
Preferred environment, enjoyment and art

Names
Targ names sound a lot like a collection of buzzing and clicking noises. As a matter of fact, that is exactly what they are. Most names are just three syllables of their crickety language put together.
